It certifies the enterprises to show them as Micro, Small or Medium Enterprise. Government has different schemes and tax benefits for each type of classification. To avail the benefits MSME Certification is Mandatory. For MSME registration enterprise must enroll their name under The Micro, Small & medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006.
LEXAMEET deals to settle such issues related to delayed payments Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006, has laid out provisions to deal with such cases. Sections 15 to 24 of the MSMED Act, 2006, deals with the issues of delayed payments to the MSEs by buyers to MSE supplier.
Further, the Ministry of MSME launched the MSME Samadhaan Portal where the aggrieved supplier can file a complaint regarding delayed payments and also check the status of such complaints
The Government of India have specifically made an Act for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. The Micro, Small & Medium enterprises Development Act, 2006 is only applicable on that enterprise which deals in Manufacturing and Service Sector.
CLASSIFICATION FOR MANUFACTURING ENTERPRISES BY INVESTMENT IN PLANT & MACHINERY
Micro Enterprises – Those Enterprises whose investment doesn’t exceed Rs. 25 Lakhs
Small Enterprises – Those Enterprises whose investment doesn’t exceed Rs. 5 Crore
Medium Enterprises – Those Enterprises whose investment doesn’t exceed Rs. 10 Crore
CLASSIFICATION FOR SERVICES ENTERPRISES BY INVESTMENT IN EQUIPMENT
Micro Enterprises – Those Enterprises whose investment doesn’t exceed Rs. 10 Lakhs
Small Enterprises – Those Enterprises whose investment doesn’t exceed Rs. 2 Crore
Medium Enterprises – Those Enterprises whose investment doesn’t exceed Rs. 5 Crore
